m4a is lossless file format created by Apple to play with the Ipods krub.
The quality is great.The file size is very big.
In oder to gain the best sound quality you normally rip your Cd into the Flac files.You can easily play the Flac files in your computer or with many players availabled.
Unfortunately you cant play these flac files with the Ipods.
The Chance to play these files is to convert the Flac files into the Other formats such as mp3 or m4a. M4a is the best file format to keep the best quality of sound of the Flac file(The sound quality is even equal with the Flac file).
The program,which is used to perform the converting ,is for example dbpoweramp. www.dbpoweramp.com.
I dont think that the other Mp3players in the market can play the files in this Format(m4a).but Im not quite sure
