Many netizens also hold the idea that the appearance of S2000 is better than S2000 MKII. The only great memory of S2000 is the fondness for its appearance. From the technology of the active speaker to the power amplifier, the design of frequency division and its last performance, S1000 published last year is far better than S2000 and S2000V of 12 years ago, and whether S2000MKII is as good as what the EDIFIER described as The Return of the King, which was realized last year.
S2000MKII supports the input of optical fiber and coaxial cable at the same time. This set of input finally can support the 24 bit/192 kHz signal. Actually the internal chip has not changed, but it¡¯s unknown why the previous R2000DB and S1000 do not support that. In terms of Bluetooth signals input, just as S1000, S2000MKII uses the CSR8645 chip that supports APT-X coding. From the products we have used, APT-X coding clearly has a better resolved force compared with the products without APT-X, but there are more restrictions in Bluetooth signals input compared with the wired input.
Digital frequency division and digital power amplifier: in the new wave of updates of speakers of the EDIFIER in recent years, the digital frequency division and digital power amplifier are the core architectures of the "inside" of the speaker box, and is the same to S2000 MKII, but it just has several specific upgrades compared with S1000.
Digital power amplifier: S2000 MKII continues to use TI TAS5754 digital power amplifier chip which is a close-loop class-D audio amplifier. The chip supports I2S digital signal input of 192 kHz with PWM frequency of 768 kHz. Different from the previous version which used two power amplifier chips to amplify tweeter and woofer, S2000 MKII uses three TAS5754 chips, with one chip in each of the two woofers. The internal of each chip uses PBTL connection to increase the output power and reduce the output impedance. And two tweeters are driven by one TAS5754 chip. The channel power of the woofer power amplifier is for 50Wx2 [S1000 35Wx2], while the power in the tweeter part is 15Wx2. Due to the change of the tweeters, the tweeter power value is indeed lower than the tweeter power of S1000.
Digital frequency division: In terms of the function of digital frequency division, S2000 MKII still uses two TI TLV320AIC3254 chips to complete it by programmable DSP. It not only needs to complete the accurate frequency division of the speaker, but can finely adjust the sound style of the speaker box that you want. It may be reserved on S1000 speakers, the sound style adjustment function on R1900 series does not appear on the S1000. Under the control of the digital frequency division system, S2000 MKII adds four choices of sound style, that is, Monitor, Dynamic, Classic and Vocal. The four sound style models show a slight adjustment in frequency response curve, and specific listening feeling will be mentioned bellow.
Signal Reception and Management: As digital power amplifier is used for final amplifier, the input analog signal needs ADC processing. Chips take the charge of managing remote control, switching, display and other work when there are multiple sets of audio input. S2000 MKII supports coaxial and optical fiber input of S/Pdif, ordinary analog signal input and Bluetooth wireless input. In the management of a complete set of sound system, S2000 MKII still uses the STM 8L152 single chip to complete the management.
