Improvements on MP-301 MK3 2018 Deluxe Version

1. Improve PCB board layout.
2. Seperate left and right channels filament power supply.
3. Improve signal noise ratio.


Here is a brief list of the improvements on MP-301 MK3 Deluxe Version.

1. The whole PCB board is gold plated for better signal purity. Unique Design!
2. The total power filtering capacitance is increased again to further lower noise floor.
3. High quality power switch. Made in Japan by ALPS.
4. Higher quality input and output selection switches. 
5. Lower tolerance ALPS volume control.
6. Higher quality headphone Jack.
 

The MP-301 series is the most popular Musical Paradise tube amp which was first released in 2008. In 2011, the MK2 was introduced to the market with many improvements. The enhancement process has never been stopped. Today, we want to introduce you the new MP-301 MK3, the third generation of the MP-301 series. After collecting large amount of users' feedback and recommendation during the past years, we bring the MP-301 series to a new high performance level.


Here is the list of improvements:

1. The power transformer is upgraded. The EI core is 30% larger to lower the working temperature. The potting material is upgraded to higher grade epoxy to improve the strength and heat resistance. More precise user configurable input voltages: 110V, 120V, 220V, 240V.
2. Add KT88 and 6550 power tube support.
3. The case construction is improved to be stronger and much easier to access when service or upgrade is needed. Since the steel is thicker, and the case is a bit wider, the background hum is much lower than the MK2 version when using low impedance headphones. It is hardly noticeable now.
4. The circuit is improved to further lower distortion and increase the stability when using some lower quality power tubes.
5. High quality screw-in connectors are used on the PCB boards, so the PCB can be removed much easier without soldering when service or upgrade is required.
6. Output transformers are improved with better construction to improve low frequency response.
7. Total power supply filtering capacitance is increased by 60uf to further lower background noise.Specifications

Review

” I was looking for a tube amp when i saw littlemart’s MP301 MK3.
The first thing that i was drawn to this amp is the range of tubes that can be switched without the need to do biasing as the unit comes with an auto bias feature built in and that its play KT88s.
The other was the fact that is the a 3rd generation of the amp, which gives a buyer like me good confidence that the desginer had gone back to the drawing board to address issues that arose in the 1st and 2nd gen sets.
Delivery was prompt and amp played beautifully out of the box with stock Shuguang tubes.
more surprises awaits ……
the SET amp has no problem driving a pair of Yamaha NS1000M with 12 inch woofers. volume knob at 11 oclock, my entire 5 x 4mtr room flows with lovely silky smooth sound with rock solid lows. the amp handles all types of music with gusto… rock, reggae, sedimental, instrumental…
i was wondering, how can 6.5W per channel sounds like that? its like a little power box with TNT inside.. haha….
CD sounds so so analogue now, vocals are crisp and clear with loads of emotions, its like i was playing LPs or had a good DAC in place.
i have planned to upgrade the power tubes to Gold Lion KT88s and preamp tubes to Jan Philips 6SJ7GWTs. these are on shipped to me and i m very sure with these tube upgrades, the amp will going to give some kick ass sound… haha….for those looking at tube amp, you should really hear out this baby… i m sure it would not disappoint.
i hv owned quite a number of SETs before and none come close to the MP301 MK3. confirm confirm this is a keeper for a long long while” by John Woo
