Built on the award-winning foundation of Geek Out, Geek Out V2 paves the way for the future of the premium portable DAC & headphone amplifier experience. Featuring a fully balanced circuit topology as well as the latest ESS SABRE9018AQ2M DAC chip makes the Geek Out V2 the most capable and powerful portable DAC ever made.
3D Printed Chassis
Utilizing the latest 3D printing technology available, Geek Out V2’s chassis allowed us the ability to radically optimize the form factor and design aspects that would have otherwise been impossible using traditional manufacturing methods. Furthermore, 3D printing allowed us the ability to incorporate built in heat sinks and ventilation chambers that reduce the radiant heat dissipated by Geek Out V2’s Class A amplifier as well as being able to incorporate non-parallel walls in the design structure to reduce internal vibration.
Geek Out V2 is designed with the same principle in mind that we used when we first introduced our original Geek Out, it had to do real 32 bit / 384 kHz PCM audio and DSD128 natively.

Digital Control Analog Gain Settings
Geek Out V2 features multiple analog gain settings which solves the problem of deciding which output level will work best for your ever expanding headphone collection. With selectable gain settings of 1000mW, 450mW & 100mW, Geek Out V2 pairs perfectly with those monstrous power hungry cans or your uber sensitive IEM’s.
Advanced 64 Bit Volume Control
In the past, attempts to engineer digital volume attenuation has been panned by audiophiles due to its very obvious “digital-ness.” Analog volume control has been preferred, though it also presents a problem because of the noise that it generates. We’ve taken a different approach to volume control with our advanced 64 bit attenuation circuit, which uses an ultra-high resolution, zero noise, bit perfect mechanism.
Geek Out V2’s volume attenuation circuit replaces the computer’s volume calculations with its own, ensuring that your music remains bit perfect all the way through the conversion process. This way, it ensures that no information is lost before Geek Out V2 gets the data.
Pure Class A Amplification
Not only is Geek Out V2 in the most powerful family of portable USB headphone amplifiers you can find on the market, it pumps out the power in pure Class A, the gold standard of amplification in most audiophile circles.
Single Ended & Balanced Outputs
Geek Out V2 features both a single-ended (TRS) output as well as a balanced (TRRS) output allowing ease of use and convenience for whatever headphones you have on hand. By incorporating a TRRS to XLR cable, you’ll also have the ability to connect Geek Out V2 with your home stereo system in fully balanced mode.
Innovative Digital Modes
Most DAC aficionados understand the importance of digital filters. One of the major functions of digital filters is to remove the digital artifacts that the digital-to-analog conversion process adds to the signal.
Geek Out V2 features two user-selectable digital modes that go beyond digital filtration. These modes not only change digital filtration settings, but also the digital PLL windows of the internal DAC IC and the re-clock jitter removal circuit, along with other hardware installed into the DAC.
TCM (Time Coherence Mode) uses LH Labs’ minimum phase digital filter and time optimization algorithm, which removes all PRE-ring from the converted signal and realigns the impulse response. This presents the listener with a more well-defined and natural soundstage. In short, this mode is optimized for time domain response.
FRM (Frequency Response Mode) uses a slow roll-off linear digital filter and frequency domain optimization algorithm to provide a smoother and clearer sound with even lower THD+N in the high frequencies. The IMD in the higher frequencies is lower because of frequency response and high frequency artifact optimization.
Geek Out V2 users will have the added benefit of receiving continuous upgrades to their digital modes through firmware as they’re released.

Three Layer Buffer
To ensure computer speed fluctuations don’t smear your music, we’ve developed a proprietary (and patent-pending) Three-Layer Buffer similar to the buffering technology many of today's high-speed computers employ. This is the first time such a design has been applied to audio.
