I recently had the opportunity to try the im02, 03 and 04 at our local store. Using the FIIO X3 as source the impressions are as follows-
IM02 - Very, very good. Ever so slightly on the warm side but overall pretty well balanced from top to bottom. Surprisingly good extension on the low end (I could hear tones down to 30Hz loud and clear). On most songs the bass has good presence, but it is not a bassy earphone by any means. Highs are mostly clear and smooth. Cymbals/hi hats sound very natural. Vocals can be a tiny bit sibilant at times if played at loud volumes, but I would not consider sibilance an issue with the IM02. The mids is the strong point and is a bit more forward compared to the lows and highs. It is vibrant, energetic, engaging yet smooth and devoid of any large peaks or valleys. Overall the presentation is very organic and smooth. I was quite impressed and actually the IM02 got me more excited to try the IM03 and IM04. Afterall, the higher end models should sound better right?
IM03 - The beautiful balance of the IM02 is replaced by a decidedly U shaped sound signature. Next to the mid forward IM02 the IM03 sounds recessed and thin at first. The highs are quite a bit more sibilant, forcing me to lower the volume. There seems to be a large peak somewhere around the 7-8 Khz, giving cymbals which falls in that range a ringing, painful sound. The 'ssss' and 'tsss' can be very pronounced and unpleasing. Bass is more elevated than the IM02 with more mid and sub bass presence. Overall, I was not that impressed and it simply did not stay in my ears for very long.
IM04- Take the highs and the lows of IM03, add slightly more mid range presence and you have the IM04. As a result the overall balance is better but the troublesome treble peak is still present, may be only to a lesser extent as the harshness was not quite as prominent as the IM03. Again, not very impressed with the sound, particularly considering its price. The lower mids/lows is not bad but the upper mids/highs simply is not up to the mark IMHO.
So there you go, IM02 sounded the most impressive to my ears and I would take it over IM03 and IM04 any day.
เหมือนทีผมชอบเลย ลองมาทั้งสามตัว ชอบ 02ที่สุด + สายโมแล้วชอบมากๆแต่ใส่ไม่ค่อยอยู่
