Very early first impressions... These are good, very good! I'm using them with Comply T400 and Ts400 so far (still trying to figure out which foam tips are the best for them, among my collection). The sound is great. Big and powerfull bass, and yet very balanced and detailed mids and highs. I quite like this sound signature. I'm sure this aren't be the most "acurate" IEMs in existance, but Heir has other models in their catalog to fullfil that need. These are musical and fun, but detailed (enough for me, at least), and I like this sound signature a lot! Now I'll take some time to enjoy them and I'll update my impressions later...

AFAIK, the 3.Ai has a kind of V-shapped sound signature (I never heard them, just what I read). The 5.0 has nothing of that. It has a kind of big bass/sub-bass with strong punch, but this bass doesn't bleed into the mids or overshadows them. It's there, very present, but in it's place, where it should be, letting the mids take their place and focus. Since I never heard the 3.Ai, I don't know about it's highs, but I also have the impression they should be more agressive...

First, this 5.0 model doesn't have a custom equivalent... Now, in my case, I really wanted the Heir's 8.A model, but never even tried any custom before, so a big question for me was also if I would like (and be able) to use customs. Then, there's the price and re-sell value, which the universals are better. And mostly, the ease of use, as I reckon a universal is easier to use (put on and take out) than customs. As I only use them at home, the isolation advantage the custom may have doesn't apply in my case. Other advantages for universals are that you don't need to make ear impressions, and now that you have a UK office from Heir, you'll be able to buy their "generic" products without any extra costs from import duties and taxes. So, once I knew there was a new universal model coming out, that had a similar sound signature to the 8.A with a lower price, I knew the 5.0 was the one I should go for...

This is Heir's first universal-only model (besides the Tzar 90/350), and is basically the same sound signature as the 8.a.



The uniqueness of this product, along with the price point is very attractive.


Also, if I decide to upgrade to a sweet set of 8.a's in the future, I can resell my Universals for a decent amount and put that money towards upgrading. Heirs seem to really retain their value :)



I also want to be able to share them with my girlfriend and/or friends, and maybe convince them to pay for some Heirs

The inspiration, the reasoning for it etc.



Due to the many requests of an 8.Ai, I pulled out a 5 driver design plan I had made while in Thailand, blew the dust off of it, and got to work.



The end result is a 5 driver IEM, with the 8.A herritage. Is it an 8.A? No, as that would be impossible. Is it a great, warm sounding, non-siblant sound signature with mind boggling bass.....

So for those that are in search for 8.A'ish SQ in the form of an IEM..... we have it. The initial plan is that all 5.0 will be in standard buckey burl

California Buckeye is one of seven types of buckeye tree in North America. There are also related trees in Mexico, Asia, South America and India. Buckeye burl is highly prized for the beautiful pattern of burl eyes, swirls and other figure. Spalting of the wood transforms it from the off white color to a mixture of off white with grey blue or purple. Ambers and other colors sometimes also occur. The wood is somewhat unstable when drying and usually cracks and distorts quite a lot. For this reason, many pieces are sold as stabilized. The stabilization involves cutting oversize pieces, having them kiln dried (which causes some distortion) and then impregnating the wood with a clear plastic resin under a very high pressure. Each piece is then cut down to the largest size free of distortion. This process makes the wood quite stable, dry and dense and makes the cost about double an unstabilized price or slightly more. Buckeye can be carefully dried without stabilization, but it is a difficult process and the wood will be very lightweight. Note that Buckeye burl or other parts of buckeye trees are not safe for food surfaces like functional bowls.

ราคาคอนเฟิมเดี๋ยวผมแจ้งให้ทราบกันอีกทีครับ แต่คาดว่าไม่น่าจะหนีจากตรงนั้นเท่าไหร่ สินค้า Heir นั้นมีภาษีช่วยชาติครบถ้วนนะครับ ซึ่งผมก็พยายามดูจนดีที่สุดและเชื่อว่าราคาไทยดีที่สุดครับ

ว่ากันตามจริงนี่ตาจอร์นเค้าเป็นเขยไทยใช่ป่ะครับ เสียดายไปตั้งโรงงานซะเมืองจีน ไม่งั้นถ้าอยู่เมืองไทย คงได้มีการนั่งรถเม์ย์ไปส่งพิมหู

เป็นเขยไทยครับ แกเป็น Audiologist จบจากอเมริกาและเป็นชาวอเมริกา เคยเข้ามาทำงานในไทยช่วงระยะนึงครับ ซึ่งตอนนั้นแกไปออกงาน canjoin 1 ด้วย แต่ผมไม่รู้จักแกว่าเป็นใครทำอะไร และก็ไม่ได้คุยกัน

ตอนนั้นแกเอาตัวหูฟัง custom มาวางเฉยๆ ป้ายก็ไม่มี ผมยังนึกในใจว่าเค้าทำอะไรของเค้ากันแน่ แต่ตอนหลังแกไปตั้งแผนกหูฟัง custom ซึ่งเป็นแผนกหนึ่งของบริษัท Micro DSP ซึ่งใหญ่มากๆๆ และทำ Heir จนดังในช่วงระยะเวลาน่าจะไม่เกิน 2 ปีนี้เองครับ

มีึความคืบหน้ามั้ยครับเฮียมั่น

รุ่นน้สั่งไปเเล้วครับ ปลายๆเดือนอาจจะเข้ามาครับ

ขุดขึ้นมาหน่อย ... มีเพื่อนๆใครไปลอง 5.0 ในงานมาแล้วบ้างคับ และ ที่สาขาอื่นถ้าไม่ไปงานมีให้ลองไม๊คับ เสียงเป็นยังไงบ้าง ^_^

ไปลองมาแล้วนะครับ
เห็นว่าเบิร์นมา 10ชั่วโมง+- นิดหน่อย
ความรู้สึกคือ 4ai+ เบส แล้วย่านอื่นๆดีขึ้น(ไม่ได้อัพขึ้นแบบชัดเจนเท่าย่านเบสนะ)

มาเเล้วจ้ากับหูฟังอินเอียร์ 5 driver ตัวแรกของโลกจากค่าย Heir Audio ที่มีชื่อรหัสรุ่นเท่ห์ๆว่า 5.0 โดยที่มี driver unit ดังนี้ครับ

• One Dedicated driver for Low Frequency production

• Two drivers for Middle Frequency production

• Two drivers for High Frequency production

โดยที่ Dr. john ได้เกริ่นเอาไว้ว่าได้ออกแบบหูฟังรุ่นนี้ตามแนวทางเสียงของตัว CIEM 8A เลยทีเดียวครับ ซึ่งหลังจากที่ลองฟังตอนแกะกล่องออกมาใหม่ๆก็รู้สึกได้ถึ่งกลิ่นอายของ CIEM 8Aอยู่พอสมควร

เสียงคร่าวๆของรุ่นนี้ก็ยังคงเป็นสใตล์ heir audio เลยครับ ให้เสียงที่เป็นธรรมชาติ โปร่ง คมชัด จะแจ้ง ถ่ายทอดรายละเอียดของเสียงร้องออกมาได้อย่างยอดเยี่ยมและสมจริง แต่สิ่งที่ตัว 5.0 ออกมาจากรุ่นอื่นก็คือ ให้โทนเสียงที่ warm กว่า และเบสที่มีมวลเด่นชัดนุ่มนวล และลงได้ลึกมากทีเดียว เรียกได้ว่าเป็นหูฟังที่ให้เสียงไกล้ตัว HEIR 8A มากๆทีเดียวครับ

น่าสนใจครับ นอกจากในงาน ที่สาขาไหนมีให้ลองไม๊ครับ จะได้ดูว่าไปตรงไหนใกล้กว่ากัน เผื่อแวะไปลองดูหน่อยครับ

ป.ล. ของก็มีพร้มจำหน่ายเลยใช่ไม๊ครับ?

บางคนให้เทียบเคียงกับ Fitear togo 334 แต่ผ่อนคลายมากกว่า บอกว่าเสียงคล้ายกับ LCD2
ถ้าวิเคราะห์แยกเป็นรายละเอียดตามนี้ครับ เขาเขียนภาษาง่าย ๆ คงไม่ต้องแปล
Isolation ดีมากถึงดีที่สุด สายไม่ค่อย microphonic

Isolation/Microphonics:



Isolation is one of the best I've experienced. They seem to isolate more than my beloved W3's which I sold a while back. Although I could be wrong. They dont go in your ear canal that deep either. Not much to say here, sorry.

Again, not much to say here. There is little to no microphonics as the cable is braided and the earphones are worn around the ear. I actually love these moldable earguides, they are not too long like the EX1000 and by the looks of it, I can cut off the moldable part of the wire and it should still work although I am not going to risk that as of now

Lows:

เสียงเบสเป็นจุดเด่น โดยเฉพาะเสียง subbass เด่นกว่า midbass อันนี้คงถูกใจผมแน่

When I first put these on, first thing that struck me was the bass. Although its a single BA driver dedicated for the lows, its amazingly powerful and even more powerful than multiple BA IEMs or Dynamic IEMs. While its still very textured and has great decay, the EX1000s lows are just so much more refined and textured but the power on the 5.0 is on a whole new level.

I am still going "tip rolling" and have yet to find the best tips for these IEMs although now I am using the smallest red silicone tips. I dont know I feel like I am not getting the best fit with these tips because when I pull them out it feels loose... I will have to spend more time with tip rolling. I honestly have not heard any earphone or headphone with lows this good, not even my HE500 can compare! The sub-bass is just amazing although its slightly slow and I dont know if its bloated or just over powered but its definitely one of those. Although I am just being picky. The mid bass on these a lot weaker than the sub bass although that usually applies to most IEMs the 5.0 is different. When you have songs with a lot of mid bass, it seems kind of weak and sounds very hollow but when the sub bass kicks in, its like a completely different IEM. I love the lows on these IEMs. Would have to say this is the 5.0s strongest selling point and sound stage is not far behind

Mids:



Mids are very airy and lush on these. I know everyone says this, but this time, its finally true. Female vocalists such as Emma Hewitt, Ellie Goulding or Christina Novelli sound amazing on these. They dont sound "thin" or "hollow". Their "voices" are heavy and very powerful. I've never heard anything like this. I dont think the mids are recessed at all although they are quite laidback. Those are two are two different things right? Haha. I honestly dont have much more to say, I just dont get how you professional reviewers write so much... Sorry guys

Highs:



Honestly, the highs are the 5.0s weakest point. I love it, don't get me wrong and as cliche as it sounds, I have heard things I have never ever heard with my previous headphones and IEMs... The highs are very detailed but remain quite dark and not too bright. They show some sibilance at times though. These IEMs are a bit too dark for my tastes but then when a snare drum comes on the song such as "You Are Not Alone" by Michael Jackson or "Not Afraid' by Eminem the snare drums just hurt my already hurt ears, I dont know if this is meant to happen but its only happened to me with two other IEMs and that was the EX1000 and the H-100. Which is a lot more brighter than these. The highs on the EX1000 was unbearable for me after about 30 minutes of music as they just caused fatigue but the 5.0 has "FUN" written all over it, not too bright nor too dark although for my tastes its quite dark.

Soundstage/Instrument Separation:



My favourite thing about these sexy babies. The separation of instruments on these leave me speechless... You can literally hear each and every instrument of the song. It has this very unique 3D soundstage that surrounds you, it really is something special. The soundstage isn't that deep but its really wide, it feels like the band is surrounded by you and you are in the middle of the crowd at their concert, especially with live recordings in FLAC. I am the person who hates a 2D soundstage as its all over your face and its just boring. The soundstage and lows are just extraordinary. Hope they get even better with plenty of burn in although burn in is usually useless with BAs.

Conclusion:
Honestly, for $775 + $201 customs fees, this IEM doesn't have the best value for its money but that's simply my opinion, someone else can think the complete opposite of that. The amount of service and respect Heir treats you is just subliminal, best service ever and I dont know why I said it wasn't worth the price, I guess those were my initial impressions, after a few hours they've really opened up and being a 5 BA IEM, this is impressive. I have already bought them and am not planning on upgrading for quite some time so am just going to stick with these.

They sound fu*king amazing (ตรงนี้ไม่กล้าแปล)

ราคาดีมากครับ และเป็นราคาช่วยชาติแล้วด้วย สำหรับ 5 driver IEM ตัวแรกของโลก
คนรีวิว Heir 5.0 เฉพาะค่าช่วยชาติก็โดนไป 200+ US dollars แล้ว
มีคนบอกว่าเสียงเบสของ 5.0 ดีกว่าของ Fitear togo 334 (ซึ่งตอนนี้มีหลายคน
ยกย่องว่าเป็น UIEM ที่ดีที่สุดและเป็น reference UIEM) เพราะควบคุมได้ดีกว่าและส่วนหนึ่งคงเป็น subbass Wizard เลือกใช้ driver ที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดเท่าที่มีอยู่สำหรับเสียงเบส

ในราคาที่เท่า ๆ กันคงต้องเปรียบเทียบกับ Fitear F111 ซึ่ง Wizard ได้ให้ความเห็นไว้ดังนี้
The Fit Ear 111 apparently was built with the design goal of offering similar sound qualities/characteristcs of the ER4p or ER4s. (according to what I have read)



The Fit Ear 111 is a single driver.......





The 5.O was built witht the design goal of offering the sound qualities/characteristics of the Heir Audio 8.A





The 8.A and the ER4p are two totally different animals.



If you are in search for ER4p type sound qualities, I would suggest the Heir Audio 4.Ai or the Tzar 350. (but understand the Tzar 350 has an impedance of 350 Ohms)



If you are in seach of LCD2'ish sound quality in an IEM, then that would be found in the Heir Audio 5.0.





Wizard

The 5.0 (and I suppose all heir iems?), have a specific approach to sound (to my ears), which is "nice sounding" and "non fatiguing". They do not impose the music on you, just let you enjoy it. So it is more laid back and much less aggressive than iems like the Kaede or the 1plus2. Some people do not like it as they like music to be thrown in their faces, and sometimes I want that. But when I want things smoother and more chill, the 5.0, is great. It does not mean that the 5.0 is not dynamic, bass punch, speed and texture are very nice. There is just a little more more distance to the music that makes it more relaxed.



Maybe the 5.0 is not at the technical level of 1plus2 or Miracles (less good dynamics and punch than 1plus2, smaller soundstage than Miracles) but it is half the price and clearly not half the performance. It is actually quite close in performance so overall a very good deal IMO. When I listen to the 5.0, beside the specific sound presentation I mentionned earlier, I cannot find any fault to it.



I actually like the sound signature better than that of the 334 and the IE800. I am not saying it is better, but that I like it better (I say that before some ayatollas start yelling at me). The 334 has better and more engaging mids, and more bass punch, as well as "bigger" sound, but I am not such a fan of the bass, which could have been slightly tighter IMO. The 5.0 sounds more balanced accross frequencies IMO while remaining very fun. The IE800 has more bass punch than the 5.0 and maybe more clarity overall, but it is much too bassy IMO, so the 5.0 once again has a better balance overall, and is definitely much less fatiguing.



All things considered, I will be keeping this iem as my go to relaxed universal, with great ergonomics and sound, where I know I will never be disapointed.

สำหรับ V Shape นั้น มาจากกราฟฟิกของ EQ ครับ ถ้าเราไปดู EQ ถ้าเป็นโหมด Flat ปุ่มปรับต่างๆ จะเรียงกันเป็นเส้นตรง แต่พอมาเป็น V shape

สำหรับ V Shape นั้น มาจากการปรับแต่งของ EQ ครับ ถ้าเราไปดู EQ ถ้าเป็นโหมด Flat ปุ่มปรับต่างๆ จะเรียงกันเป็นเส้นตรง แต่พอมาเป็น V shape จะกลายเป็นดังในภาพ อธิบายง่ายๆ คือการปรับแต่งเสียงให้มีทรวดทรงเป็นรูปตัว V นั่นเอง

จะเห็นว่าช่วงตรงกลาง ซึ่งเป็นย่านเสียงร้องต่างๆ และเครื่องดนตรีที่มีความถี่ที่ 1 khz จะถูกดึงลงมาจนเป็นปลายแหลม ส่วนทางด้านซ้ายกับด้านขวาจะชันขึ้นไปเรื่อยๆ ซึ่งหมายความว่ามีการปรับแต่งให้ความถี่ต่ำ(ซึ่งอยู่ทางซ้าย) และความถี่สูง (อยู่ขวา) ให้เพิ่มมากขึ้น

เสียงที่ได้คือเบสมากขึ้น เสียงกลางแหลมชัดขึ้น ในขณะที่เสียงกลางจะจมถอยหลังลง ทำให้ฟังได้นานไม่ล้าหู และได้เบสและแหลมที่เข้มข้นขึ้น การแต่งแบบ V Shape นั้นเหมาะเจาะจะเอาไว้ฟังกับพวกเพลงร็อคเสียเป็นส่วนใหญ่นะครับ

และการปรับแต่ง EQ ในลักษณะอื่นก็มีอยู่ให้เห็น แต่ V Shape ว่ากันว่าคนแต่งแบบนี้มากที่สุด ปลายตัว V จะแหลมมากหรือแหลมน้อยก็สุดแท้แต่ความต้องการล่ะครับ

อ่อเข้าใจแล้วครับเฮีย คล้ายๆเวลาปรับเสียงกีต้าร์ที่ใส่ Distrotion ให้มันโหดๆนี่ มันก็ต้องปรับแบบ V Shape นี่แหละ ดันต่ำกับแหลมให้ขึ้นไปแล้ว ใส่ Gain เยอะๆ เสียงริฟท์โหดสะใจดีนักแล ส่วนเวลาจะ Solo ก็ต้องดันกลางขึ้นไปให้เด่นๆ กดต่ำกับแหลมลงมา

ถ้าสำหรับคนเล่นกีตาร์ อันนี้ผมไม่ทราบล่ะครับ แต่ถ้ากับเครื่องเสียงล่ะใช่แน่ๆๆจ้า

ตอนนี้ 5.0 เริ่มเบิรืนได้ที่ละครับ เริ่มเเสดงพลังที่เเท้จริงออกมา

ซึ่ง Dr. John ได้เน้นย้ำว่าออกปบบมาให้ฟังสนุกๆ เล่นได้เกือบทุกแนวเพลงล่ะครับ
